An absolutely outstanding example for popular cycling - John Grimshaw.
I am very supportive of your proposals to start a Cycle Hire business in the area because I would have thought the whole Promenade route from Wallasey around the north side of the Wirral and then the railway path down to Neston constitutes an absolutely outstanding example for popular cycling of this type. If you consider the Camel Trail in Cornwall where over 1,000 bicycles are hired out each day and substantial work is given to local people, you can see some idea of potential.
Of course, you don't have the same number of holiday visitors and therefore you're appealing to a different clientele but I can think of no better place for those who don't cycle to learn to do so and gain confidence in this wonderful means of transport.
I hope that your arrangements will also include the Mersey ferries, because if you do this can you not also tap into the visitors on the Liverpool side and encourage them to see that a trip on the ferry followed by a cycle ride around the Wirral is all part of the menu of attractions available if you come to Merseyside.
